Lyoprester SS™ — the ultimate pharmaceutical container for the single shot

The Lyoprester SS takes the dual-chamber Lyoprester architecture one decisive step further: a special top plunger that accommodates a syringe piston and a needle adaptor, turning the cartridge itself into a complete, self-contained injection system. The lyophilized active rests in its protected chamber as a dry cake — its most stable state — while the P-EARLs™ solvent waits in the second chamber, behind the internal septum. Nothing meets anything until the moment of use.

Ready for action, P-EARLs included: you just screw a needle, inject, then throw.

One action, aseptic by construction

Screwing the needle adaptor on and advancing the piston breaches the internal septum: the P-EARLs flows forward over the cake, the full dose reconstitutes inside the closed container in seconds, and the injection is delivered through the attached needle. There is no diluent vial to open, no syringe draw-up, no transfer step — and therefore no open contamination path anywhere between the shelf and the patient.

What the published literature says about manual reconstitution

A 2026 hospital-pharmacy economic evaluation of ready-to-dilute thiotepa (Tepylute®) versus its lyophilized powder form cites a study in which 15% of lyophilized thiotepa doses were prepared out of tolerance. That figure is one study, one drug, in a hospital-pharmacy setting — not a universal reconstitution error rate. The evaluation models institutional cost offsets and time savings for the ready-to-dilute format, including reduced wastage, compounding time and clinical consequences of preparation errors.

A randomized, controlled, triple-blinded trial in 2026 compared a ready-to-use abobotulinumtoxinA against the reconstituted onabotulinumtoxinA powder for glabellar lines and found comparable efficacy and durability. Most botulinum toxin formulations on the market are still lyophilized powders that require manual mixing; the published direction of travel is away from the hand-reconstitution step.
